Dr. Catherine McCall

Dr. Catherine McCall teaches people to apply self-care as a way to create optimal physical and emotional health, thereby enhancing their sense of well-being and life potential.

Dr. McCall received her medical degree from Emory University where she also completed a residency in General Psychiatry and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. She maintained a private practice in psychiatry and psychotherapy for fifteen years before expanding more fully into teaching and consultation in the areas of self-understanding and wellness creation, mind-body medicine and creative expression.

Following her own creative yearnings, she received a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She is the author of Lifeguarding: A Memoir of Secrets, Swimming and the South, which was named the 2006 Finalist for the Kentucky Literary Award in Nonfiction.
